The Moorhead Spuds came into Bemidji Thursday fresh from an 83-71 win over St. Cloud Tech.
They quickly proved that win was no fluke, handing Bemidji a 70-58 setback to sweep the home and home series.
Moorhead broke a 9-9 tie early in the first half with a nine point run and went on to a 10 point halftime lead.
Bemidji cut the margin to five early in the second half but yielded another run of seven and never got back into contention,
The taller Spuds took away Bemidji's running attack, kept them outside through the first half with a tight 2-3 zone and dominated the boards at both ends of the court.,

'They ended with a 54-24 boards advantage, seldom allowing Bemidji to get a second shot..
Several of the limited number of Jacks baskets came off turnovers.
Bemidji closed down Moorhead ace Ryan Sederquist in the first half, limiting him to two points.
But 6-4 forward Mike White took over the scoring burden hitting inside and out to total 25 points and keep Moorhead in control,
Sederquist came alive in the second half when the Jacks switched to a man to man and ended with 15.
Bemidji had three double figure scorers with Czar Woods netting 16, Carey Woods 14 and Ryan Rude 10.
But the Jacks seldom got their attack untracked.
Woods first of four treys knotted the score at 9-9 after four minutes.

But Moorhead scored the next nine points including a trey by Sam Stetz and was off to the races.
A later run of seven pushed the lead to 29-15 before the Jacks drew back to 10 at halftime.
White had 11 at this point and Woods eight.,
Bemidji came out strong to open the second half as Moorhead switched to man to man.
A five point run narrowed the gap to 35-30. But that was as close as it would come.
Moorhead answered with seven including a Sederquist trey to lead 42-30 and was never threatened.
Bemidji came within nine at 54-45 on Woods' third trey before an 8-2 Moorhead run put the game to bed.
In contrast to the 56 fouls called at Moorhead there were only 41 Thursday with many of those coming in the closing minutes when the Jacks were forced to foul to gain possession. Sederquist was the only player to foul out.

The Jacks fell to 11-6 with the loss which snapped a six game win skein. Moorhead is now 9-7.
Moorhead swept the preliminaries.
Their JV jumped to an 18-3 start and beat the Bemidji B Team 58-48.
The Jacks played well after the slow start but were never able to get into contention. Matt Watnebo came off the bench to hit 30 for the winners. J.C. Cervenka led Bemidji with 13.
The Spuds sophs stopped the Bemidji freshmen 45-32.
Sophs Mark Fodness, Mason Bellew and Cale Mills bolstered the freshman cast but Bemidji trailed 37-20 at halftime and never caught up. Three Spuds hit double figures while Fodness' 11 led Bemidji.
The B Team fell to 11-6 and the freshmen to 3-9. Both play tomorrow at Sartell
