BEMIDJI-The Bemidji Figure Skating Club and Sanford Health are teaming up to host a Destination PyeongChang Skate-A-Thon from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16 at Neilson Reise Arena.
People of all ages are invited to take part by skating laps or donating funds to the 2018 U.S. Olympic Figure Skating team.
Wren Warne-Jacobsen, a figure skater who started her career at the Bemidji club and is training in St. Paul with hopes of competing at the Olympics, will perform to open and close the festivities. Other BFSC skaters will perform, as well, throughout the evening.
Santa Claus is invited to join the fun, and Christmas music and games will be played throughout the Skate-A-Thon. Pizza and pop will be served for a $5 donation.
Following the Skate-A-Thon, participants are also invited to participate in the Ugly Sweater Open Skate from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
