Jessi-Beth McCannell delivered 48 set assists and Nicole Olson and Bethany Thompson each converted 14 of them into winning kills as the Bemidji State University volleyball team downed Upper Iowa 28-26, 25-23, 19-25, 25-17 Saturday at BSU.
Saturday's victory gave the Beavers a split of the weekend home action and upped their record to 9-11. In NSIC play Bemidji State is 3-9. On Friday the Beavers were swept by Winona State.
Upper Iowa fell to 5-15 and 3-9.
McCannell also served a pair of aces and had 17 digs. Brie Groskreutz led the squad with 28 digs while Melissa McNeely finished with 12 and Lindsey Weyer 10.
Wayne State broke a 1-1 deadlock with a goal in the 63rd minute to upset the Bemidji State soccer team 2-1 Saturday in Wayne, Neb.

The win was the first in conference action for the Wildcats (1-3-4) while BSU dropped to 7-2 in league play and 10-2 overall.
Ashlee Ellefsen gave the Beavers a 1-0 lead 7:39 into the contest when she found an opening inside the box and converted a feed from Jamie Ford but 12 minutes later the home team answered when Tiffani Kellereman's 15yard shot trickled past netminder Samantha Ross.
The 1-1 tie continued until Macy Hagen scored off a corner kick at 63:09.
Ross finished with seven saves while Bemidji State's offense managed only five shots on Wayne goalie Emily Walker.
Bemidji State will play at Augustana today.
