BEMIDJI -- Fans won’t have to wait long to see the Bemidji State women’s hockey team in action. The Beavers released their 2022-23 schedule on Monday, and it features the earliest regular season opener in program history.

BSU has 34 games on tap next winter, which includes a season-opening puck drop at home against Lindenwood on Sept. 23. In 2017, Bemidji State played an exhibition against Team Korea on Sept. 20, but the new Lindenwood game stands as the program’s earliest regular season matchup on the calendar all-time.

After facing the Lions Sept. 23-24, the Beavers will travel to Clarkson on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Then league play begins, featuring 14 series against WCHA opponents. That includes an Oct. 14-15 home series against defending national champion Ohio State, plus a Feb. 17-18 home series against national runner-up Minnesota Duluth.

WCHA play begins Oct. 7-8 at Minnesota, last year’s regular season league champ. After six series against league foes, BSU will travel to Hamden, Conn., for the two-day Nutmeg Classic Tournament on Nov. 25-26.

Once the regular season ends on Feb. 18, the WCHA Tournament begins with the quarterfinals on Feb. 24-26. The WCHA Final Faceoff semifinals are set for March 3, and the Final Faceoff championship will take place Saturday, March 4.
