DEEPHAVEN -- The Bemidji State men’s hockey team wrangled a pair of conference awards on Monday.

Senior blueliner Will Zmolek was named the CCHA Defenseman of the Week, while sophomore netminder Mattias Sholl was tabbed as the CCHA Goaltender of the Week.

Zmolek picked up a goal and an assist during BSU’s road split at Northern Michigan, leading all CCHA defensemen with two points. He had the game-winning goal in Saturday’s victory and tied for the team lead by going +2 on the weekend with two blocked shots.

Sholl posted a 1.01 goals against average and a league-best .967 save percentage over the two games. He was 58-for-60 on save attempts in 118:51 of action, only conceding one goal each game.

Bowling Green’s Ryan O’Hara and Northern Michigan’s Joey Larson were named the CCHA Forward of the Week and CCHA Rookie of the Week, respectively.
