DEEPHAVEN -- For the second time this season, Elias Rosén has been named the best of the blueliners in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.
The CCHA named Rosén the Defenseman of the Week on Monday for his efforts with the Bemidji State men’s hockey team. Rosén had a team-high four points off two goals and two assists, leading the Beavers to four out of six points against Bowling Green.
The Mora, Sweden, native began the series by bagging the game-winning, power-play goal in the third period of Friday’s 5-3 win . Rosén also forced overtime on Saturday by scoring the game-tying goal with 1:54 left to play, despite what ultimately became a 3-2 Falcons win .
The junior had a +2 rating on the ice, also posting four shots on goal and one blocked shot.
Rosén also won the same award on Nov. 29. He now has three weekly accolades in his career.

Elsewhere around the league, Ferris State’s Ethan Stewart was the CCHA Forward of the Week, Michigan Tech’s Blake Pietilla was the Goaltender of the Week, and St. Thomas’ Tim Piechowski was the Freshman of the Week.
The Beavers return home this week to face Ferris State at 7:07 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, and 6:07 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Sanford Center.
