BEMIDJI -- The Bemidji State women’s basketball team and head coach Chelsea DeVille announced the addition of four commits on National Signing Day Wednesday. The signees include Sam Pogatchnik, Amme Sheforgen and Lily Weimann and Jana Swanson.

Sam Pogatchnik, a 5-9 shooting guard from Proctor, is a two-sport letter winner in basketball and volleyball at Proctor High School. The Rails won the Lake Superior Conference and the Section 7AA title last season.

Sheforgen, a 5-10 guard/forward from St. Francis, played for Cambridge-Isanti High School. She was named to the Mississippi 8 All-Conference Honorable Mention team in 2017 and the All-Conference team in 2019.

Swanson, a 6-foot forward from Isanti, is a letter winner in volleyball and basketball at Cambridge-Isanti. A teammate of fellow signee Sheforgen, Swanson was named to the Mississippi 8 All-Conference team in basketball and competed in the state volleyball tournament.

Weimann, a 5-8 guard from Anchorage, Alaska, is a three-time letter winner in basketball at South High School. Weimann, an all-conference selection, is the first BSU recruit from Alaska in nearly 20 years.
