BASEBALL: Bemidji’s Mark Elliott named to Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken Hall of Fame

The longtime Bemidji Youth League baseball coach was elected to the Minnesota Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken Hall of Fame on June 28.

BEMIDJI – Mark Elliott is a Hall of Famer.

The longtime Bemidji Youth League baseball coach was elected to the Minnesota Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken Hall of Fame on June 28. Elliott coached players from 11 to 15 years old, winning many Minnesota Babe Ruth State Tournament titles and advancing to the Midwest Plains Regional Tournaments.

His teams finished second several times at the regional tournament and won the regional championship in 2008, advancing to the Cal Ripken World Series in Martin, Tenn. It marked the first time a Bemidji Youth League team participated in a World Series tournament.
