ST. PAUL -- Four area track and field athletes took part in the action during the Class A state meet at Hamline University in St. Paul on Friday.
Clearbrook-Gonvick’s Josiah Hubbard clocked in at 40.20 in the 300-meter hurdles, which put him third in the prelims and clinched a spot in Saturday's finals. He will race again at approximately 6:21 p.m. Saturday.
For the C-G girls, Danae Stenzel was eighth in discus with a 108-00 throw.
Roni Tirkkonen placed 14th in the 800 for the Bagley boys team. Tirkkonen finished with a 1:59.63 time.
Zoey Mills ran the 3200 for Northome-Kelliher-Blackduck, where she took 15th overall with a 12:24.83 mark.
Along with Hubbard, three other athletes will be in action Saturday. Clearbrook-Gonvick’s Ethan Dorman will participate in the high jump at approximately 3:30 p.m., the same time that NKB’s Monica Johnson will be competing in the shot put. Northome-Kelliher-Blackduck’s Adnew Stueven will run in the 1600 at approximately 5:28 p.m., as well.
