CURLING: Minnesota rink remains unbeaten at U18s

CHASKA -- The Minnesota 1 rink improved to 3-0 at the 2019 USA Curling U18 National Championships on Friday in Chaska.

The girls team, which features Bemidji curler Damaris Berg, claimed wins of 8-4 over Mountain Pacific and 7-3 over Great Lakes 2.

In the boys event, the Minnesota 2 rink dropped to 0-3. Following a 6-2 loss to Grand National 1 Thursday night, the team fell 5-3 to Wisconsin Friday morning. The team faced Mountain Pacific later Friday night but results were not available at press time.

Minnesota 2 is comprised of Bemidji curlers Jonathon Gassvig, Shawn Quello and Seth Solo, as well as Nisswa’s Daniel Murray.

Round-robin play concludes Saturday at the Chaska Curling Center.
