BEMIDJI -- The Bemidji High School boys swimming and diving team came out on top, 113-61, in a dual meet against Detroit Lakes at the BHS pool Tuesday night.
The Lumberjacks claimed wins in seven of 12 events to take the victory over the Lakers.
Sam Hendricks and Luke Yartz each posted a pair of first-place finishes.
Hendricks recorded wins in the 200-yard individual medley (2:18.35) and 100 breastroke (1:15.57), while Yartz was victorious in the 50 freestyle (25.96) and 500 freestyle (5:26.88).
Moses Son also took top honors in the 100 butterfly (1:08.06) and Brekt Thorsgard posted the high score in diving (191.05).
The Lumberjacks clocked the fastest time in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:59.57. The team included Hendricks, Yartz, Walker Erickson and Brooks Matetich.
Bemidji will return to action Thursday, Dec. 27 at the Brainerd Invitational. The meet is slated for a noon start at Brainerd High School.
