BEMIDJI -- The Bemidji High School boys swimming and diving team defeated Thief River Falls with a dominant 127-48 outing in a dual meet Tuesday night at the BHS swimming pool.
The Lumberjacks earned wins in 11 of 12 events as the Prowlers claimed their only victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Six different BHS swimmers recorded victories as individuals.
Sam Hendricks was victorious in the 100 free (54.32) and 100 backstroke (1:04.39), Luke Yartz earned wins in the 200 individual medley (2:24.36) and 500 free (5:58.63), and Walker Erickson took first in the 50 free (25.24) and 100 breastroke (1:20.51).
Moses Son claimed the top spot in the 200 free (2:18.39), Brooks Matetich picked up the win in the 100 butterfly (1:08.23) and Brekt Thorsgard posted the top score in diving (179.85).
The 200 medley relay team of Jaxon Leindecker, Son, Erickson and Matetich posted a win with a time of 2:07.06. The 200 free relay team of Kolden Michalicek, Pau Mesegue, Freddy Petrowske and Hendricks was also victorious, recording a time of 1:47.04.
The Jacks will return to the pool for a 6 p.m. meet Friday, Dec. 14 at Park Rapids.
