BEMIDJI -- For senior day and the season finale on Saturday afternoon, the Bemidji State volleyball team fell in three sets to the nation’s No. 5 team, Northern State, by scores of 25-13, 25-8 and 25-17 at the BSU Gymnasium.

The Beavers finish their season with a 6-22 record overall and a 3-17 mark in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

BSU’s three seniors, Maddie Filipiak, Jessica Reega and Mikhaila Ness each started for the Beavers, with Filipiak leading the offense with seven kills on the day.

Following Anna Averkamp’s six kills, Reega chipped in four kills of her own along with a pair of blocks, and Ness had a kill and a dig in the match.

Becky Schroeder led the back line with six digs on the day, followed by Mary Campbell, Emma Hallmann and Taylor Kot with three apiece.

Campbell, the setter, had 22 assists.

For the Wolves (17-3, 25-3 NSIC), four hitters reached double digits, including Jenna Reiff and Sally Gaul with 12 each and Hailey Busch and Laura Snyder with 11 each. Ashley Rozell set most of those up and collected 48 assists.

Bemidji State finishes 14th in the NSIC, while only the top eight advance to play in the league tournament, which begins Tuesday, Nov. 6.
