MINNEAPOLIS - Red Lake was seeded fifth in the Minnesota Class A high school boys basketball tournament and will meet fourth-seeded Browerville-Eagle Valley at 1 p.m. Thursday in a quarterfinal game at Williams Arena.
The Warriors are 26-4 after winning their third straight Section 8A championship Friday night. Browerville-Eagle Valley is 26-2.
The Warriors will have a pep rally to send the team off to the state tournament at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the gymnasium at Red Lake High School, the team will leave for the Twin Cities following the rally.
Other quarterfinal games Thursday match No. 1-seeded Minneapolis North (26-5) against St. Clair (22-7) at 11 a.m., No. 2-seeded Central Minnesota Christian (26-3) against Mountain Iron-Buhl (24-6) at 3 p.m. and No. 3 Goodhue (22-9) against Lake Park-Audubon (26-4) at 5 p.m.
Losers of the quarterfinal games are eliminated from the tournament, while the winners move on to Friday’s semifinals at noon and 2 p.m. The third-place game will be at 9:30 Saturday morning and the championship at 11 a.m. Saturday.
