I would like to thank Headwaters Science Center for hosting the Camp Invention program. At a time when America is facing a critical talent gap in the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and math), the Camp Invention curriculum is designed to inspire our future scientists and inventors through hands-on exploration and problem-solving. Fifty-one area elementary students joined over 66,000 students nationwide in honing their 21st century learning skills such as teamwork, critical thinking skills, and creativity at the Camp Invention program this summer. I especially want to thank camp director Chris Tolman, her talented local teaching staff, and the creative students in Bemidji for their outstanding work.
