The University of St. Thomas is need of a men's hockey coach to lead the Tommies into the Division I era. Here are five men, and one woman, with the experience, credentials and local connections that could benefit Minnesota's newest big-time college hockey program.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Gophers freshman defenseman Ryan Johnson was born in 2001, so he has no first-hand memories of his father, Craig, wearing either the maroon and gold or the red, white and blue of Team USA. But the younger Johnson took a big step closer to filling his father’s skates on Monday.
Current Minnesota Gophers forwards Blake McLaughlin and Sampo Ranta, plus incoming freshman defenseman Jackson LaCombe and incoming freshman forward Ryan Johnson, are vying for spots on World Junior Championship rosters.

Riley Tufte turned 21 on Wednesday, while prepping for his third NCAA Frozen Four for the Bulldogs. He's hoping to delay a wild celebration until Saturday night, where his plan is to secure a second national title for UMD.

Denver head coach David Carle first went to the Frozen Four as a Pioneers fan, cheering on his older brother to the 2005 NCAA title. Also coach of the year finalists, and Fargo is regional attendance leader.
