LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Gardens add to the beauty of our city

Local businesses and volunteers come together each year to plant, water and cultivate corner gardens to add to the beauty of our city.
It's costly to buy plants, seeds and mulch. Most of the burdens of cost come from the individual gardeners who take pride in their displays. Between watering, replacing, upkeep and regular gardening chores, it can be time-consuming.

While these add so much beauty to our city, on the downside, some people have taken to stealing plants and flowers, leaving behind bottles, garbage and cigarette butts.
Being a tourist destination, these gardens are fine examples of what our town has to offer. As you walk along and view our many statues, make sure to take a moment to stop and admire the gardens and smell the roses.
