LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Relay for Life event shows community’s support
On behalf of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Beltrami County, I would like to sincerely thank our community for its generosity and support. This year, 28 teams participated in the Relay For Life event and raised $86,574.62 to support the American Cancer Society’s mission of saving lives from cancer. I am so proud of Beltrami County for standing up and taking action to support lifesaving changes.
We were honored to welcome and celebrate the lives of over 100 cancer survivors and caregivers who participated in the Survivor Ceremony and walked the opening lap, you are an inspiration to us all. Our luminaria ceremony demonstrated the community’s warmth and strength in honoring survivors and those who are no longer with us.
I would also like to thank the Relay For Life event volunteer leadership team, team captains and participants who worked so hard to make this year’s event a success. Without our amazing volunteers this event would not be possible. And of course, thank you to our sponsors for their generosity and support.
The Relay For Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all.
