In response to the Bemidji State softball coach story; here's an idea for BSU in particular, and all high schools and universities in general -- hire female head coaches to coach female athletes.

It's 2019, and there is no longer an acceptable reason or explanation that justifies hiring male head coaches to coach female teams. This one action will go a long way in protecting female athletes from alleged predator coaches like Rick Supinski. In addition, female head coaches serve as role models, leaders and mentors for female athletes, and they break down stereotypes that perpetuate the myth that women aren't confident enough, experienced enough or competent enough to coach.
