What a claim to fame - the city of Bemidji’s two liquor stores had a profit of $772,079 in 2014. Meanwhile, we are all aware of our neighbors, namely our homeless population, battling their addictions. The caring members of the Nameless Coalition for the Homeless are also doing battle with the city over the location of a shelter for chronic alcoholics and for relief from the $896 in permit fees.
