LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Cancer center is monument to family and community

Lueken's has become synonymous with the word "community." Serving the community in more ways than one, I feel as though your article (Aug. 29) could have shed a bit more light in regard to the family that was one of the primary donors of the center.

Lueken’s has become synonymous with the word “community.” Serving the community in more ways than one, I feel as though your article (Aug. 29) could have shed a bit more light in regard to the family that was one of the primary donors of the center.

The article published, while giving thanks to the Lueken’s family, does not highlight the speech and testimony Jeff Lueken himself gave at the opening event. I write this not to undermine the cancer center and the generous donations given, but to emphasize the fact that the center is also a monument and a testimony to community, family, and is an extension of the Lueken’s family and their ongoing generosity.
