I read the article in the Bemidji Pioneer (Oct. 27): “Bacon and other processed meats can cause cancer, experts say.”
Upon reading this article, I was reminded of the words penned by Ellen White more than 100 years ago in her book, “The Ministry of Healing.”
“Flesh was never the best food, but it is doubly objectionable, since disease in animals is so rapidly increasing ... People are continuously eating flesh that is filled with tuberculosis and cancerous germs. Tuberculosis, cancer and other fatal diseases are thus communicated,” White wrote.
We believe these warnings were given to her by the Great Physician. They are in harmony with Leviticus 17:10-14 and Acts 15:20, 29. “The life of the flesh is in the blood.”
In the same book, she wrote: “Tobacco is a slow insidious, but malignant poison. ... It excites and then paralyzes the nerves.”
How long did it take for this truth to be acknowledged? More than 100 years.
What will be our decision?
