“Tim” Paul Timothy Jones
“Tim” Paul Timothy Jones, 74, of Bemidji, MN tragically died in a hunting accident Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Cass Lake, MN.
Tim was born to Harley “Bill” and Thelma Pream Jones on February 13, 1946. Tim grew up in Cass Lake, MN and graduated from Cass Lake High School in 1964. Tim met Annette Neises on his first day of first grade. He reported to his mother that day, “I met the most beautiful girl in the world.” That began their beautiful love story. Tim and Annette were married on January 22, 1966. They celebrated 54 wonderful years of marriage at the time of Tim’s death. Tim’s love of nature was only second to the love of his family. Tim worked for the United States Forestry Service and retired from that service. Tim was devoted to the preservation of forests and wild life. He spent many hours reseeding forestry land, marking trees, and making and strategically placing wood duck houses. He walked the many miles of the Chippewa National Forest for his job but mostly for his pleasure. Tim enjoyed everything outdoors. He was an avid hunter of duck and deer. After he and Annette retired they moved to Ohio to be near their daughter and granddaughter. Tim’s love of animals led him to take a job at the Columbus Zoo. As the Co-vid epidemic unfolded Tim and Annette took the time to take many rides and had many adventures; always taking time to notice nature. They enjoyed watching the changes that spring brings with the rebirth of land and animals. Tim many times wrote stories of past events to give to an elderly neighbor on hospice to brighten her day. Tim was a wonderful helper to all his neighbors. He was always available to be the helping hand they needed. He was well loved and will be sorely missed in his neighborhood. Tim loved to write poetic notes to Annette and left them for her to find when he left to go hunting. The note he wrote on the morning of his death was simply, “Here’s the most important thing before I leave, I Love You, Tim”.
Tim is survived by his wife, Annette Jones; children, Stephanie (Tom) Paretta and Angela Anderson; granddaughter, Kendall Anderson; and his siblings, Michael (Sally) Jones and Sally Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael, his son-in-law, Jeff Gilheney and mother and father-in-law, Dick and Mary Neises.
