Shawn Zabrocki

Shawn L. Zabrocki, 53, of Bemidji, MN died Monday, November 2, 2020 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, November 6, 2020 at Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji with Wendell Knutson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Shawn was born June 23, 1967 in International Falls, MN the son of Larry and Jackie Zabrocki. He was raised and educated in Bemidji. He worked as a sheet metal fabricator. He started out working for Nordheim Sheet Metal and learned the trade and was so skilled at his work that he could fabricate an entire network of ducts just based on measurements. He was recently working at Higgins Heating where he found an incredible work family with whom he shared many laughs with and lasting friendships.

He loved to make people laugh and loved his family. He was very close to his grandparents and would sit for hours with them listening to their stories of their past and valuing their opinion. Shawn cherished his friendships. He valued those relationships and memories. He was the great protector and would have done anything for a friend. Since childhood, Shawn always had a special bond with dogs. Dixie was his family dog, Shady was with Shawn in his later years and Groot who was with Shawn during his last days and spent many days playing, running, hiking and getting love from Shawn.

He is survived by his parents Larry and Jackie Zabrocki of Bemidji,  brother Rob Zabrocki,  sister LeeAnn Huot,  nieces and nephews Kaiya Smith, Briana Zabrocki, Kaden Smith, and Braydon Zabrocki,  his best dog Groot,  and many loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Leila and Leonard Zabrocki, Vicki and Ray Carlson, and his loving dogs Dixie and Shady. Condolences may be left at ceasefuneralhome.com.
