Ronny “Ron” Raymond Henriksen

Ronny “Ron” Raymond Henriksen, 74, of Blackduck, MN died on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the Mayo Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN.
There will be a graveside service held at 3:15 P.M. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck, MN with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post #372. A public celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Ron was born on September 6, 1946 in Adrian, MN to Lloyd and Marie (Henning) Henriksen. He graduated from St. Anthony’s Catholic High School in Lismore, MN in 1964. Ron entered the US Army in November of 1965. He served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged as a SP 4 on October 23, 1967. He married Myrlis Shingler at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Blackduck on August 22, 1970 and together they raised 2 sons. Ron attended Northwest Technical School in Bemidji from 1972-1974 for Auto Mechanics. He went on to own and operate Big A Auto Parts in Blackduck and later opened his own shops, Ron’s Repair and Bemidji Radiator. He also worked at General Trading Auto Parts, and Bogart’s Service, retiring from there in 2012. Ron was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Blackduck, a member and former commander of the American Legion Post #372, the 40&8 of Bemidji, and the Blackduck JC’s. Ron enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, woodworking, hobby farming, and crossword puzzles. Ron was the first to offer help, never expecting anything in return.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Myrlis; 2 sons, Christopher (Gretchen) of Blackduck, MN and Matthew (Brenda) of Bemidji, MN; 4 grandchildren, Aubree, Rebeka, Cade, and Esme, with one on the way; 2 sisters, Audrey Stoffel and Tammy (Denny) Loosbrock; 4 brothers, Jerry (Verna) Henriksen, Butch (Therese) Henriksen, Wes (Rose) Henriksen, and Dudley “Duke” (Chris) Henriksen; a brother-in-law, Denny Gerber; a sister-in-law, Donna Henriksen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Troy and Lenny Henriksen; 2 sisters, Arlene Gerber and Marsha Henriksen; a brother-in-law, Smokey Stoffel, and his mother and father-in-law, John and Alberta Shingler.
