Robert W. “Bob” Rutledge
of Lakeville, MN, died of an illness at his home on Thursday, July 15, 2021.
Bob was 51. He is survived by his wife, Tiwi, daughter, Jaslynn, stepson Aldi and by his father Robert “Bob” Rutledge of Bemidji. He was preceded in death by his mother, Susann “Sue Shepard” Rutledge of Bemidji.
Bob was also survived by his aunts, Mary (Shepard) Weathermon of Farmington, NM, Nancy (Shepard) and Dennis Gustafson of Cass Lake, MN, Karen (Shepard) and Larry Robertson of Bemidji, Kathy (Shepard) and Emit Taylor of Sparks, NV, Christy (Krumrey) and Rick Hanson of Bemidji, Margie (Krumrey) and Todd Tollefson of Bemidji, and Margaret (Rutledge) Mayhue of Manassas, VA.
Surviving uncles include, Jim Shepard, Bemidji, Howard Shepard, Bemidji, Ben Shepard, Bemidji, Mike Shepard, Salem, OR, Randy Krumrey, Tokyo, Japan, Bill Rutledge, Tucson, AZ, and Dave Rutledge, Charlotte, NC.
Many nieces, nephews, and cousins live throughout the country.
He is resting now in the Lakeville Grove Cemetery, a place of great beauty and peacefulness.
Bob was a 1986 graduate of Bemidji High School, previously of Northern Elementary School. He played trumpet in the Lumberjack Band, and earned his Eagle Scout award with Troop 80, Bemidji. He was awarded the George Pelawa Scholarship upon BHS graduation and entered an apprenticeship program at Control Data Corporation in the Twin Cities. He spent his entire career in computer operations for major businesses in the metro area. He was a gifted and accomplished technician.
His hobbies and interests included being a movie buff, and a collector of movie posters and Star Wars memorabilia. He included in his goals the collection of high-performance cars, world travel, and the continued study of history and visiting historic places.
Bob’s kindness, warmth, compassion and encouragement will be missed by his family, his friends, and his colleagues. We hold his memory dear to our hearts.
