Dawn Marie Maggert

“Friends don’t let friends die without Jesus.” These were the last words Dawn Maggert posted on social media, and they are words she truly lived by.

Dawn Marie (Fisher) Maggert, who went home to be with her Savior at her home on Friday, January 21st, is a beloved wife, mother, friend, and second mom to many. She kept an open-door and open-arms policy for all she met. Her deepest loves were her children, her husband of 33 years, Jesus, travel, coffee, and the Waffle House.

Dawn was born December 17, 1970. She married Mark Maggert on April 8, 1988. They both grew up in Blackduck, MN and made their home in Bemidji, MN, but spent the winter months in Atmore, AL.

Dawn is survived by her husband, Mark, four sons, Kristopher (and wife), Nickolas, Mitchel, and RJ, and one daughter, Kaylee, along with five grandchildren.

Her biological parents are Dan Fisher (deceased) and Sharon Fisher. She also had three biological siblings, Danny Fisher, Dennis Fisher, and David Fisher.

Dawn also dearly loved her foster parents, Lee Hochstetler (deceased) and Sally Hochstetler and siblings.

Dawn’s death was very unexpected to us, but those who love her take comfort in the fact that it was not surprising to God. We know that “our time on earth is brief; the number of our days is already decided by You.” (Job 14:5). Dawn is currently fully at peace, worshiping in Heaven, and we look forward to seeing her again one day. Visitation and funeral services in Atmore, AL will take place on Wednesday, January 26 at Grace Fellowship.

A visitation will start at 10:00am on Wednesday, February 2 at the Evangelical Free Church in Bemidji, MN with a funeral service at 11:15am .
