Jacqueline Vita Traiani

Jacqueline “Jackie” Vita Taviani, age 56, of Lake George, MN passed away peacefully at her home in Lake George with her family by her side. She was born in Bensenville, IL on November 22, 1964 the daughter of Norman and Vita (Scaccia) Taviani.

Jackie grew up in Bensenville and graduated Fenton High School with honors in 1982. Following graduation, she attended the National College of Education in Evanston, IL also graduating there with honors. She was part of the 100-year Centennial graduation and received a centennial scholarship with a bachelor’s degree in English. Jackie moved to Lake George in 1986. She married the father of her children in 1988 and would take substitute teachers positions in Park Rapids, Bemidji, and Laporte before working at the Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig School where she was eventually offered a full-time position. She worked for 12 years before taking a position at the Cass Lake public school and finally teaching at the Northland Learning Center in Virginia, MN. During these times Jackie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, attending all of her kid’s school events, being outside, crocheting, fishing, traveling and most of all, being a teacher and touching all of her school children’s lives. Jackie was one of the most well-respected teachers in the community. She loved listening to music and being around her furry friends, especially cats and dogs.

The family that Jackie joins again are her dad, Norman, granddaughter, Nevaeh Prescott, aunts, Jeannie, Connie and Jean, uncles Bob, John and Sam, her grandparents, Sam and Vita Scaccia and Gertrude and Armond Taviani.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her mom, Vita Taviani, son, Alex (Jaime) Neeland, daughter, Teresa (Elijah Prescott) Taviani, brothers, Michael (Angela) Taviani and Chris (Ana Dias) Taviani, grandchildren, Finleigh, Sophia, Aubrey, Tyler, Justus, Alex and Tony, great grandchildren, Danni and Jessie, great niece Alice, nephews, Blake (Reanna) and Vincent. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A celebration of Life for Jackie will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Northern Peace Funeral Home, Walker, MN. Honorary pallbearers are Dylan Hanson, Tyler Johnson, Blake Klinke, Vincent Taviani, Richie Bjorklund, Samantha Shaw, Mariah Torres and Elijah Prescott.
