Mayabelle Morganson

Mayabelle Morganson, 91, of Bemidji, died Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Neilson Place, Bemidji.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji with Pastor Doug Giese officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Lake George Cemetery, Lake George, MN. Masks are required and no lunch will be served due to Covid conditions.

Mayabelle Bauman was born to Benjamin & Electa Bauman in Lake George, MN on May 5, 1929. She grew up in the Lake George area where she attended a one-room schoolhouse until the end of her 8th grade year. She then attended Bemidji High School, graduating in 1947. She worked many summers at Douglas Lodge at Itasca State Park. She then went to work for Northwestern Bell Telephone and worked there for over 27 years when she retired. Mayabelle was united in marriage to Vernon “Bud” Morganson in Lake George on April 14, 1956. She enjoyed crossword & jigsaw puzzles, turkey shoots, fishing, deer hunting, watching Twins baseball and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Randy) Brandsted; sons, Michael (Terri) and Patrick (Patti); grandchildren, Taylor & Parker Morganson; brothers, Jim Bauman and George Bauman; sister, Grace Donat. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Dale, Al, Joe, and Ben; sisters, Margaret, Donna Jean, and twin baby sisters.
