Marion Novodvorsky

Marion Novodvorsky, age 96 of Bemidji, MN, passed away peacefully on May 25th, 2021.
Born June 17, 1924 in Chicago, IL to Silas and Hazel LaRose, Marion grew up in upstate New York and New York City. She married James Haeckler on June 21, 1947. Marion and James lived and worked in New York and New Jersey until moving to Laporte, MN in 1972.
While living in Laporte, she was a member of St. Theodore’s Catholic Church; a member of the church Guild serving in many of the officer roles; and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, also serving in the officer roles. Marion worked at Johnson’s Clothing in Walker, MN for nearly twenty years before retiring.
After James passed away on May 26, 1991, Marion met and married Harold Novodvorsky in Laporte, MN on January 29, 1994. Marion was a talented gardener, taking care of large flowerbeds at her homes in Laporte. She was an avid crafter, creating gifts for family and friends. She loved meeting people, traveling, gardening, crafting, and her family.
Marion is survived by her sister Martha Shampine; her children Kathleen Michaud, Robert Haeckler, Michael (Debra) Haeckler and Elizabeth (Glenn) Bourquin; her step-children Ingrid Novodvorsky (Chris Johnson) and Aaron (Mary) Novodvorsky; her grandchildren Amy, Jamie, and Mary Michaud; Amber Kirscher and Michah Haeckler; her step-grandchildren Chelsea and Genna Novodvorsky; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her first husband of 44 years, James Haeckler; her second husband of 21 years, Harold Novodvorsky; her parents; her brother John LaRose; and her sisters Clara Shampine and Mary ‘Lil’ Williams.
A special “Thank You” to Dr. Rodney Will, and to the nurses and staff of North Country Senior Living and Neilson Place Nursing Home in Bemidji.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church in Laporte, Minnesota on Saturday, June 26th, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.
