Margaret “Aunt Marge” Irene Anderson

Margaret “Aunt Marge” Irene Anderson, 98, of Waskish, MN died on Friday, June 19, 2020 at her home.

Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2020 at Homestead Park in Waskish, MN with Rev. Theresa Gehrke-Herwynen officiating. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Waskish.

Marge was born on January 16, 1922 in Red Lake Township, MN, the daughter of Josef and Marketa (Olisar) Hudec. Marge spent her childhood and early adulthood living between Waskish, MN and Cicero, IL. Marge started school in Waskish and then graduated from Morton High School in Cicero, IL. After graduation Marge worked as a key punch operator in Chicago, IL and with her parents at Hudec’s Resort in Waskish, MN. On November 22, 1956 Marge married Roger Anderson in Kelliher, MN. After their marriage they moved to Pine Island, where Roger was the Forest Ranger. From Pine Island they lived in Kelliher and then moved to Waskish, where she resided until the time of her death.

Marge was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Waskish. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and over the years made many, many pies for the bake sales and socials. She made the best pie crusts.

Marge is survived by her loyal and loving dog, Ike; 4 nieces, Carol Mollar of Chicago, IL, Joann Barnes of St. Petersburg, FL, Barbra Marine of West Chicago, IL and Marketa (Mike) Anderson; nephew Don Hudec; many great & great-great nieces and nephews, (with a close relationship to great nephew, Josiah Hudec, great nieces, Kelsey (Derek) Nistler, Sadie Anderson & Megan Hudec and her great-great niece and nephew, Quinn & Asbjorn Nistler.

Marge is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Roger; her parents; sister, Bessie; brothers, Joseph, James and Edward; and nephew, Ronald Hudec.
