Marc Gerald Bloomquist

Marc Gerald Bloomquist, 48, of Tenstrike, MN passed away of a heart attack unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

Marc was born on June 4, 1973, in Brainerd to Rodger and Lona (Nimeth) Bloomquist. Marc married Jen Addler on May 3, 2003 in Tenstrike, Minnesota. They have three children who are the light of their lives.

Surviving are his wife, Jen and their children, Calvin 17, Nathan 15, and Jillian 12; his parents, Rodger and Lona; his sister and brother in law, Leslie & Todd Wensloff; mother and father in law, Pat & Steve Addler; brothers and sisters in law, Max & Sara Addler, Sam & Roz Addler, and John & Alicia Addler;  and 13 nieces and nephews.

Marc graduated from Littlefork High School in 1991. He was full of stories from his childhood in Littlefork. We’re not sure how many of them are actually true. He graduated from Bemidji State University with a degree in criminal justice in 1996. He also got his Masters from St. Cloud State University. Marc has worked for many years for the State of Minnesota, most recently as a supervisor for the Department of Corrections.

In 2016 Marc and Jen bought Cedar Rapids Lodge. Marc loved people and this was the perfect place for him. He was busy working two jobs, but you would have never known it. He made everyone feel special and like they were the only person in the room. He was best known for entertaining the teenagers with card tricks and wagers that ended in free meals, ice cream, and jumps in the lake.

Marc’s other love was coaching. The number of kids he influenced is hard to fathom. He was so happy when he was coaching. He lit up. There was a lot of yelling, but it was with love.

Marc was very involved at Bemidji Evangelical Covenant Church. He honestly lived to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

We know with certainty that Marc is “Livin the Dream” in Heaven, greeting people with “What’s Shakin Bacon?” BUT more importantly he is now with his Savior.

Memorials are preferred to the Evangelical Covenant Church, Kingdom Builders Fund.

The Kingdom Builders Fund was a vision of Marc’s to reach out to those in need in the community.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 13, 2021 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Bemidji with Pastor Doug Giese officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 12th at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Bemidji, MN.
