Lanny Dean Matheson

Lanny Dean Matheson, 72, of Alvwood, MN passed away March 14, 2021.

Lanny was born June 25, 1948 in Northome, MN to Lucille (Kinsella) and Roderick Matheson. He attended Northome schools and later lived in Bloomington, MN, Concord, CA and Shakopee, MN where he was employed in both foundry and construction before retiring and fulfilling his dream of moving back to northern Minnesota and the Northome area, where he always felt most at home. Lanny enjoyed fishing, hunting deer and grouse, playing cribbage and watching westerns with their dog, Ellie Mae curled up in his lap.

Lanny is survived by his friend and partner of 43 years, Carla Matheson; his children, Danette (Keith) Hinds & family, Scott (Misty) Matheson & family and Jena (Dennis) Becker; his siblings, Jack (Kathy) Matheson, Twyla (Ray) Kilmer and Ann (Dan) Siats; his brother-in-law, Geno (Julie) Davidson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roderick and Lucille Matheson; his brother, Al Matheson; and his sister, Julie Davidson.
