June Ann (LaVoi) Bingham, 86, of Bemidji, MN, died April 3, 2021 at Sanford Medical Center (Bemidji) surrounded by her loving family. A funeral for June will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at St. Philips Catholic Church, Bemidji, MN with only family in attendance. June will be buried at St. Mary’s Hansville Cemetery in rural Fosston. Arrangements are with Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

June was born in White Earth, Minnesota on June 17, 1934 to the parents of Arthur and Mabel (Warren) LaVoi. June graduated from Fosston High School in 1951. Prior to her marriage, June worked in Bemidji as a dental assistant. In 1952, June married James G. Bingham and following the wedding, they moved to the Iron Range where Jim was employed with GN Railroad. In 1953, they returned to rural Fosston, MN where they resided until Jim’s retirement in 1994 when they moved to Bemidji.

June took pride in her life long work as a Mother and was very proud of her eight children. She also fully enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very artistic with her hands creating decorative arrangements, wildlife oil paintings and drawings. Other activities included membership in St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Fosston, Christian Women’s Club, Catholic Guild and was a 4-H leader.

June was also interested in promoting and assisting her husband’s work upgrading the Hansville Cemetery, where many of her ancestors are buried. But most of all, she loved her family and caring for all of them. We always felt the love and warmth of her smile whenever she was near. And then, there was that laughter that always created happiness around her. June also fully enjoyed the years of her work supporting Jim as he authored a book of her family’s history in the autobiographical novel title “Our Earthly Journey.”

June is survived by her husband, James and their children Sharon (John) Lefstad, Jeff (Karen) Bingham, Cathy (Ron) Olson, Theresa (Les) Anderson, Wayne (Carol) Bingham, Jamie (Paul) Muller, Annette (Brian) Combo and Jenny (Chris) Gronli, 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, brothers Warren (Diana) LaVoi and Andy LaVoi. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son James Arthur, sisters Audrey Imler, Delores Welle, Theresa Capps and Patricia Thomas.

Pallbearers will be the June’s Grandchildren. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Kris Anderson for his ongoing support and care for June and the Bingham family. Memorials preferred to St. Philips Catholic Church (Bemidji) and Sisters St. Benedict (Crookston).   Condolences may be left at ceasefuneralhome.com.
