Judy Skerik

Judith Evaline Skerik, 79, of Debs, MN went to join her family amongst the angels on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 losing the battle to repair her heart.

Funeral services are 1:00 pm Wednesday June 17, 2020 at the Osterdahlen Buzzle Lutheran Church in Pinewood and will be combined with her son, Paul Skerik that passed away May 30, 2020. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Interment will be at the Buzzle Church Cemetery in Pinewood under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.

Judy was born August 30, 1940 to Paul and Lillian (Montbriand) Dunn. As a child she loved to ride the train from Tenstrike to Bemidji with her mother, go to church and play ball with her brothers. Growing up with 5 brothers she became a strong, brave woman capable of taking on all life handed her. She married her best friend, Jim Skerik on March 22, 1958 and together they built a beautiful family and farm. Helping with the church Sunday school and Bible school program when her children were young was one of her greatest joys. Judy loved to travel and made many cherished trips to Longview, Washington to visit her siblings. Judy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.

She leaves behind many aching hearts, amongst them her children, Rick (Bev) Skerik of Hawaii,  Roxann (Nic) Lopez of Bemidji, Pam (Dan) Nelson of Oregon, Jestine (Erik) Hyrkas of Oakdale,  18 grand children, and 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Judy now joins her beloved husband Jim Skerik, son Paul Skerik, parents Paul and Lillian Dunn, siblings, Noreen, Rheba, Paul, Jr., Alfred, Bill, James, and John. May you rest in peace.  Condolences may be left at ceasefuneralhome.com.
