Joline “Jolly” Ann Lindgren

Joline “Jolly” Ann Lindgren, age 90, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Valley Memorial Elder Care in Grand Forks, ND.

Jolly was born on September 18, 1930 in Grand Forks, ND to Armin and Joy Rohde. She grew up in Grand Forks and attended Central High School where she was class valedictorian and graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in business as class salutatorian. Throughout her childhood, she enjoyed spending precious time at “The Lake” with her parents and sisters at their cabin in Bemidji, MN, a special place that she and her husband, Don, later enjoyed and shared throughout their lifetime with their family and friends.

In 1951, she married her husband of 65 years, Donald H. Lindgren, of Grand Forks, ND in Mobile, AL where he was stationed serving in the U.S. Army.

Jolly was a kind soul who always shared her infectious laughter looking to the positives in life. She was a daughter to be proud of, a supportive sister, a devoted and caring wife, a loving and encouraging mother, a generous and loyal mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many.

She was very bright and involved in many different organizations throughout her life. Some of which included serving in different capacities for UND Homecoming, being active in her Kappa Alpha Theta sorority in various roles including being a Rush Chairperson, actively participating in PEO and starting the Republican Women’s Holiday House Tour. She ran the Gift Shop at The Fabulous Westward Ho Motel, later pursuing her passion for interior decorating in helping many clients with her talents. She was an incredible cook who loved to entertain, teaching her five children the life-long skill of cooking. She was an artist who loved to paint and late in life produced countless and valuable pieces of art from her beautiful coloring.

She is survived by her children, Scott (Mary Ann) Lindgren of Grand Forks, ND, Greg (Kim) Lindgren of Wenatchee, WA, Marti Andro of Chippewa Falls, WI, Chris (Kim) Lindgren of Denver, CO and Peter (Lisa) Lindgren of Timnath, CO; her eight grandchildren, Mark Lindgren, Sarah Martin (Tyler Martin), Patrick Lindgren (Mandi Lindgren), Joshua Andro (Lauren Martinez), Nicholas Andro (Staci Andro), Beckham Lindgren, Tyler Lindgren and Kyle Lindgren; her 10 great grandchildren; and sisters Evelyn (Snookie) Register of Grand Forks, ND and Pam Larson of Casa Grande, AZ.

Jolly was preceded in death by her parents, Armin and Joy Rohde and her husband, Donald Lindgren.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2021 in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Thursday.

Burial: Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND
