Jan Lee McNamara, 72, formerly of Solway and current long-time resident of Sidney, MT, passed away peacefully in his home on May 2, 2021. Jan had fought considerable health battles for several years. No funeral services will be held, according to his wishes.

Jan was born in Bemidji and raised in the Solway area, the oldest of 5 children born to Glenn and Ellen McNamara (nee Heggie). His true passions, from youth to the end, were hunting and fishing. He was an oil man, a cattleman, and even a diesel mechanic - but in his heart, he was a hunting and fishing man.

Jan is preceded in death by his parents, but survived by his wife, Ellie McNamara, and their dog Blue, as well as a host of family: daughter Terri McNamara, son Michael (Barbie) McNamara, daughter Trish (Mark) Barthorpe, brother Jack (Carolyn) McNamara, sister Joyce Thayer (Rocky Hangsleben), sister Julie (Ronald) Kaiser, and brother Joseph (Jackie) McNamara.
