James “Jim” Hirt

James (Jim) Donovan Hirt passed away April 21, 2020 at his home in Bemidji, MN.

Family will be holding a private ceremony at a later time.

Jim was born July 14, 1969 in Bemidji, MN to Joan & Robert Hirt. Jim lived in Bemidji his whole life where he attended Horace May Elementary School and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1988. Jim married Tracy Olson in 1990. Jim worked for his father at Hirt Trucking while he was growing up and took over the business in 2000. During his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid Minnesota sports fan. His biggest joy was to watch and follow his children advance in their sports and athletic careers.

He is survived by daughter Kayla Hirt and son, Ryan Hirt; brothers, Bob (Peggy) Hirt, Mike (Sheila) Hirt, sister Jenny (Dane) Jones and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Joan Hirt and a sister, Lynn Hirt.
