Ilene Christenson

Ilene Christenson, 93, of Bemidji, MN died Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Cornerstone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bagley, MN.

An immediate family only service will be held now and a public celebration of life at a later date.

Ilene Ellora Welch was born February 10, 1927 in Bemidji, MN to Milton and Christine (Swanson) Welch. She grew up in Bemidji and graduated from Bemidji High School. On June 21, MJ1946 she married Melvin Christenson. They had three children, Danny, Ronald and Janice. Ilene was a homemaker and sold Avon. She was a volunteer at Havenwood Nursing Home for 26 years, Beltrami County Social Services, Senior Companion Program for 10 years and the Red Cross. Ilene loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She loved to baby sit, enjoyed music, playing cards, making handmade crafts and baking.

She is survived by her children, Danny (Jill) Christenson, Ronald (Liz) Christenson and Janice (Delbert) Mickalson; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Calvin Welch and sister, Norma Lindseth.
