Carol Krause

Carol Lenore Krause, 79, of Bemidji, passed away peacefully at home on November 21, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

Carol Lenore Hannem was born April 23, 1941 in Bemidji, Minnesota to Olaf and Leonore (Thorp) Hannem. She attended Central Elementary School and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1959. She worked for Lutheran Brotherhood for a year and then worked at First Lutheran Church making bulletins and answering phone calls.

In 1961, she met Curtis Krause and they married on March 17, 1962. After getting married she worked at Gambles for about a year. Deciding she wanted to do something different she sought out a job at the Welfare Service where she was employed for the next five years. She was then employed with the State of Minnesota for 25 years.

Carol was an avid reader, loved baking, fishing, and swimming. She also loved to travel and spend time with family.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Karen Krause and Kelly Krause, Bemidji, Minnesota, son Keith Krause, Bemidji, Minnesota, grandchildren Katelin, Kyle and Brady Krause and sister Lois (Carl) Schultz, Aitken, Minnesota.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Olaf and Leonore, husband, Curtis, brothers, Jim, Ronnie and Paul Hannem.

Private graveside services will be held Monday, November 30th, 10:30 am, Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji, Minnesota.

Memorials are preferred to The National Library Services for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, Cancer Society-Bemidji Chapter and the Kitchigami Regional Library.
