Kenneth Marvin Hendrickson
Kenneth M. Hendrickson, 83, of Hines, MN died on June 18, 2019 at the McIntosh Senior Living in McIntosh, MN.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church in Blackduck, MN with Rev. Anne Meredith officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ken was born at home on December 6, 1935 in Squaw Lake, MN, the son of John and Mabel (Laski) Hendrickson. He attended school at Squaw Lake until the 8th grade and graduated from Blackduck High School in 1954 where he was a 4 sport athlete with football being his favorite. He was united in marriage with his High School sweetheart, Donna Rae Owen on June 23, 1956 at First Lutheran Church in Hines, MN. They moved to St. Paul while Ken was employed with the Minnesota Highway Department for 26 years. In 1973 they moved to Blackduck Lake where they owned and operated Tepee Tonka Resort for 21 years. They then retired on Blackduck Lake and have resided there since. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Hines and later Zion Lutheran in Blackduck. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling with his family. He cherished his time teaching his kids, and later his grandkids, the love of the outdoors and going on many hunting and fishing trips with his son and grandkids. He loved to attend all of their sporting events and spending time at his hunting shack, "The Bullpen". His favorite thing to do the last few years was sitting on his deck enjoying the beautiful view of Blackduck Lake.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Donna Hendrickson of Hines, MN; son, Kelly Hendrickson of Blackduck, MN; 2 daughters, Shari (Stanley) Mistic of Puposky, MN and Jana Hendrickson of Bemidji, MN; 5 grandchildren, Mitchell (Zoey) Mistic, Nick (Sara) Mistic, Abby (Meagan) Mistic, Sam Hendrickson and Max Hendrickson; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Gene (Judy) Hendrickson; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, Don Johnson; and his special buddy, Tonka.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Charles "Chud" and Lyle; and sister, Cecile.
