On December 10, 2018, Charlene Loisel of Bemidji MN went to be with our Lord. She was born September 26, 1935 in Springfield IL, the daughter of James Woods and Edna Isenhauer Woods.
In 1955, she married George Loisel of Cloquet, MN, becoming a military spouse. She supervised 11 moves over the next 18 years until the family settled in Golden Eagle, IL where she lived for 43 years until moving to Bemidji to be close to family. When her children were older, Charlene returned to school and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Library Arts. She worked as the librarian for the Brussels (Illinois) School District and served on the board of the Brussels Public Library for many years. She learned the art of tatting when in her forties and was asked to do many demonstrations and shows, so fine was her work. She also loved gardening, reading, bird watching, bird feeding and, most of all, her family.
Her husband of 61 years preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Charlene Jr.(Jeff) Anderson of Bemidji, MN, Catherine (Jim) Fuhler of Canyon Lake, TX, Chris (Marcia) Loisel of Birnamwood, WI, and Craig (Cat) Loisel of Viera, FL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Justin (Jessica), Patrick (Memree), Charlayne (Steve), Lydia, Alexander, Victoria and Elizabeth, and five great-grandchildren: James, Marshall, Genevieve, Abigail and Cecelia.
There will be a memorial service on January 18, 2019 in the Neilson Place Chapel at 10:30am. Her internment will be in August 2019 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield IL, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Bemidji Public Library.Condolences may be left at ceasefuneralhome.com.
