GIRLS BASKETBALL: Bemidji loses 77-50 in Brainerd

BRAINERD -- Brainerd stopped the Bemidji High School girls basketball team in its tracks Friday night, topping the Lumberjacks 77-50 in Brainerd.

The Warriors (6-8) held BHS (8-5) to 19 points in the second half, outscoring Bemidji 34-19 to keep a firm hold on the lead. In the first half, Brainerd built up a 43-31 edge by the break.

Katie Alto led the Jacks with 14 points, while Rumer Flatness mixed in another dozen. Myah Nelson had a game-high 17 for the Warriors, while Courtney Russell added 16.

Bemidji will return to action when it hosts Little Falls at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the BHS Gymnasium.
