Walter Jerry Doggett, formerly of Bemidji, died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008.
At his request, there will be no services.
He grew up in the south, but loved northern Minnesota and Bemidji. He spent many happy hours canoeing its lakes and rivers. He was a reporter for the Bemidji Pioneer for many years and later served as the editor. He worked in several businesses in the area.
He is survived by his son, Steve (Shonette) Doggett; two grandsons; one brother and one sister of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
