BEMIDJI — On Friday afternoon, Ellis Towing and Recovery workers began carving out a portion of the ice on Lake Bemidji in preparation for the Bemidji Jaycees' Brrrmidji Plunge on Saturday, Feb. 29.

The Leap Day event is a cold water plunge, which will take place on Lake Bemidji directly behind the Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox statues.
