Victor Koenig, 88, of Bemidji, died on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji with Rev. Steve Pomp officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji.
He was born on April 15, 1918, to William and Minnie (Schuster) Koenig, in St. Louis, Mo. He was raised and educated in St. Louis. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946, in the European Theater. Following his discharge, he returned to St. Louis and was a truck driver for the Teamsters. At first, he drove truck for a coal barge. He then worked for 32 years as driver for Berberich Delivery at Pulitzer Publishing in St. Louis.
He retired on May 1, 1975, and moved to Bemidji to be near his sister. He lived in Fargo for a few years and returned to Bemidji where he has lived since.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Edna Koenig.
