Veretta Effie Foust, 86, of Kelliher, died on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, at Kelliher Care Center in Kelliher.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck.
Honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren and great- grandchildren, Shawnda Patch, Bill Kisner, Tarren Patch, Logen Patch, Dalton Kisner and Samantha Kisner.
She was born on July 26, 1920, to Elias John and Minnie Lee (Winfrey) Turner, in Shooks, Minn. She moved with her family to California in 1921. In 1938, she graduated from high school in Simi Valley, Calif. She worked in an orange packing plant in Simi Valley for several years. She married Clarence Samuel Foust in 1941 in Simi Valley. They resided in Simi Valley until 1960 when she moved to Kelliher. She moved to Bemidji in 1976 and moved into the Kelliher Care center in 2002 and has resided there since.
She was a homemaker most of her life. She was the treasurer for Woodrow Township for two terms in the early 1970's. She loved to crochet and knit, and work in her flower and vegetable gardens.

She is survived by her son, Samuel John (Lora) Foust of Mason City, Iowa; daughter, Leigh (Keith) Kisner of Kelliher; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, John Turner, Zelah Turner, Zolah Turner and Zolman Turner.
