BEMIDJI-The booming sound of Christmas music will fill the Paul Bunyan Mall on Saturday as performers come together for TubaChristmas.

"TubaChristmas is a celebration of tuba," Bemidji High School band director Derek Wickum said. "We do all kinds of traditional Christmas carols, and it's just tubas and baritones."

The concert is open to tuba and baritone musicians from throughout the community. It has been an annual tradition in Bemidji for approximately the last 15 years.

Registration will take place at the Bemidji High School band room starting at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9. There is a $10 registration fee. The actual concert will then take place at 1 p.m. that same day at the Paul Bunyan Mall. The concert is expected to last about 45 minutes.
