BEMIDJI -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that U.S. Highway 71, south of Bemidji, near Kabekona is now open for traffic, after the completion of a box culvert replacement.

Crews have been working on the road since June 3 to replace the culvert and improve drainage for Highway 71. The project cost an estimated $388,000, officials said.
