BEMIDJI -- Three people were injured after a two-car crash Sunday evening two miles south of Bemidji.
The crash occurred at the intersection of North Plantagenet Road Southwest and Monroe Avenue Southwest in Bemidji, according to a release from the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office. The dispatch office was notified of the crash at 6 p.m.
A car driven by Patty Beighley, 54, of Bemidji was traveling east on Plantagenet Road when she was hit by a car driven by Cassidy Sharpnack, 20, of Hines, Minn., who was traveling north on Monroe Avenue and failed to stop at the intersection, the sheriff’s office said.
Sharpnack was taken from the scene by North Memorial Air ambulance to a Fargo, N.D., hospital, the release said. A passenger in Sharpnack’s vehicle, Jonathon Peterson, 20, of Hines, was taken via ambulance to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center. Beighley also was taken to Sanford Bemidji via ambulance; their conditions are unknown at this time.
The crash is under investigation by the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol; alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor, the release said.

Also responding to the scene were the Bemidji Police Department, Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, the Leech Lake Police Department, Bemidji Fire Department and Bemidji Ambulance.
